Ben Currin is the Konnection Band's latest addition. Ben served in the US Army from
1968 thru 1991, so he is sorta a "Johnny Come Lately" onto the music scene.
He did, however, play in a local combo in highschool from 1966 to 1968. And,
in 1980 thru 1984 while on Army Recruiting duty, formed the Eddie Carroll Combo,
which was a popular "oldies" band, featuring Buck Carroll. In 1997, Ben returned to his music by teaming up with Brian, Dewey, & Doug (Konnection band members now) to play with the Saltee Dawg Band. Later on, he played with Hart 2 Soul, a dance band out of Greensboro, NC, & The Time Machine Band (featuring Cammy award winner Al Williams) out of Raleigh, NC. Ben brings his "rack of keyboards" to the Konnection Band as an addition to the already great sound they had, and has fit in very well playing along side of Fred Donn, the band's other keyboardist. |
